- I have a Miracom Courier 14.4 modem which I have been using at a DTE
- rate of 19200. I recently purchased a new Pentium with onboard 16550
- fast serial ports. I was under the impression that this would enable
- me to specify a DTE rate of up to 57600. However when using Trumpet
- Winsock I just get the message "Modem not responding".
-
- I have downloaded CYBERCOM.DRV from the WEB and updated my
- SYSTEM.INI file to point to it. I have also added COM2FIFO=1 to
- 386enh. However the maximum DTE I can use is 19200.
-
- I downloaded a small DOS comms program (BBS222) from a local BBS and
- tried to set a DTE rate of 57600. Again it would not let me (I got
- some kind of frame error).
-
- I have used MSD to check that I definitely have 16550 chips. I do.
-
- Can anyone help me with this problem as I am just about to purchase a
- 28.8 USR VI and obviously would like it to perform to its full
- potential.
